WANTED
I cannot think of any other actresses who can carry too much action so smoothly and so well than Angelina Jolie.
The story is about a young man named Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) working at a boring job with an annoying boss. He takes medication for anti-depressants when he feels nervous or stressed out. He lives with his girlfriend that sleeps with his best friend. His life wasn’t so interesting and the things he did were boring as hell routines.
On another end, “Mr. X” (David O’Hara) meets with a ballistics expert to track down who made a special bullet for their “competitor”. The expert said that the bullet is “clean” and can be track down to a particular weapon. (This part becomes clear at the last part of the movie). Suddenly, snipers shots the ballistics expert in the head from an adjacent building. Mr. X got his full force running and leaping through the window and kills his opponents on the other building. He landed on the building and answered the dead opponent’s cell phone. He talked to the man calling, not aware that he was standing on a marked X spot. He noticed it after the man on the phone cross fired a special bullet from across some buildings, shooting Mr. X on the forehead.
One night, Gibson suddenly meets a good looking mysterious woman who came out of nowhere. She told him his father was one of the best assassins and was killed the the previous day. Gibson replies that his father left him when he was still a baby. On that time, Cross appeared, carrying a gun. The woman started shooting Cross. Gibson and the mysterious good looking woman escaped from the shoot-out and had a wild car chase in the streets. The mysterious good looking woman brought Gibson to the headquarters of The Fraternity of Assassins. A thousand-year-old secret society of assassins. The fraternity’s leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman), introduced Gibson to Fox (Angelina Jolie), the mysterious good looking woman from the night before. She invited him to follow in his father’s footsteps as an assassin.

Sloan tried to test Gibson to see his skills by making him shoot the wings off the flies. Gibson thought it was impossible, then a gun was put pointed at him when he refused. His panic attack triggered and Gibson somehow managed to shoot the wings off the flies. Sloan informed him that he was able do such because his heart beats 400 times a second whenever he gets frightened or stressed. It was a gift that only a few knows how to control and only counted people knew how to use. The best one they had was his father. Sloan asked Gibson whether he wanted to learn how to control his gift, but he got so frightened and ran away. Gibson wakes up the next day and thought all that happened with Sloan were just a dream. But Gibson discovered the gun he used shooting the fly (which he suddenly hid in his toilet tank) was
with him. He got curious if it were all real so he checked his bank account and surprisingly discovered he had $3.6 million. When Gibson got to work, he got too carried away and raged against his annoying and nagging boss and hits his best friend with a computer keyboard, (giving a nice sign of his middle finger afterwards) and stormed out of his office. Gibson felt relieved and shocked at the same time with what he have done back in his office. When he was out of the building he passed by a newspaper stand and panicked after seeing his pictures with Fox, front page of the newspapers. They were wanted fugitives for the pharmacy shoot out incident. He tried to walk fast and covered his face then he noticed Fox in the SUV, she was waiting for him. He got in Fox drove back to the Fraternity headquarters (a textile mill).
He had experienced a dangerous and challenging training with Fox and other Fraternity assassins. When he was ready, Gibson was given orders to assassinate from the loom of fate that gives the names of the targets. They got it from some binary code hidden in the weaving fabrics in the textile mill.
By the time he had his first target assignment, Gibson got hesitant to terminate his assignment.
A flashback was shown when Fox was telling Gibson that it isn’t right to kill people not knowing about them or why they deserve to be assassinated. Fox related a childhood story, about one Judge
who handled a sensitive case, and the respondent had him ordered to be assassinated. There was a hired assassin that held a knife point to a girl, as the assassin waited for her father to come home. When the girl’s father arrived, the assassin then lit her father on fire as she watched in horror. The assassin embarked his initials into her neck. Fox explained to Gibson that the assassin who killed the Judge had been one of the assignments who the Fraternity failed to carry out his assignment. Fox informed where the Fraternity’s idea of “Kill one and maybe save thousands” came from. When Fox left, Gibson noticed initials scarred on her neck.
After all the challenging training, Gibson learned to use his gift and knew how to bend bullets trajectory.
Every time Sloan gives an assignment target to Gibson, he would ask if it would be Cross. He felt ready and confident to take and face him. He can’t wait to take his revenge on him. Then the time came where Sloan granted Gibson’s wish of Cross’s to be his target. Fox felt like it was too early for him to take Cross but Sloan gave her the assignment of assassinating Gibson.
Gibson and Fox traveled to the Fraternity’s original base of operations in Europe. They both easily captured Pekwarsky and forced him to lead them to Cross. Finally, Gibson and Cross had their meeting on a moving train. Fox stole a vehicle and crashed it into the moving train. It caused the train to derail when it reached a bridge causing a lot of innocent lives. Gibson almost fell into the deep, narrow steep-sided railroad but Cross caught his hand and saved him. Before Cross died, he told Gibson that he was his real father and that the Fraternity had set him up. Because they knew if it were Gibson’s mission to assassinate him, Cross could not fight back and kill. Fox got near and told Gibson about the set up and raised her gun to shoot him. He immediately shoots the glass underneath where he was standing and fell on the river below him.
When Gibson woke up, he found himself in an apartment fronting his former apartment. Pekwarsky was there. While inspecting the apartment, he found out that it belonged to his real father. It turned out that Cross had been watching him and monitored him his whole life. Pekwarsky handed Gibson a loom weaving and told him to decode it. Gibson discovered Sloan’s name in the code. Pekwarsky explained that when Sloan have discovered that he was the next assignment, Sloan started manufacturing his own targets for assassination. Sloan used false kill assignments to use the Fraternity as contracted assassins. Gibson then realized that Cross had never intended of actually killing him in their previous confrontations. Cross had been trying to kill the Fraternity members in order to keep their distance with Gibson. Gibson was given plane tickets by Pekwarsky and left. There was a message and it stated that his father’s wish for him was to have a life free of violence and revenge. Gibson explored his father’s apartment more and discovered a hidden room containing all of Cross’s maps and weapons. He even found a supply of the Exterminator’s mini-bombs, realizing that the Exterminator had been working with Cross. Gibson then mad a plan to take down Sloan and the rest of the Fraternity. When he entered Sloan’s office, he found himself surrounded by the fraternity assassins and Fox. Gibson informed them that he discovered Sloan’s fraudulent kill orders. He told everybody that Sloan made it a business by getting big profit for paid assassinations. He then attempted to terminate Sloan, but was disarmed by Fox. She asked if this was true, then Sloan told them that all of the Fraternity names had come up in the weaving and that he had almost acted to protect them. Sloan then asked if they truly believe and respect in the code, then they should take their lives to protect thousands. On the other hand, they should all kill Gibson. The assassins decided to kill Gibson, but Fox acts were too fast that she swiftly curves a bullet hitting all the rest of the assassins that were forming in a circle. She threw her gone to Gibson before stepping into that circle where her fellow assassins got terminated. She got hit by her own curving way bullet shot. Sloan had escaped. Gibson, back to being poor once more, does not know what to do. Gibson provided a voice-over, and the scene shows that a young man sitting and fronting a computer, much alike with what the beginning of the film scene. The man types “Wesly Gibson” on the Internet and finds that there’s nothing about him he can find. Just like the scene in the introduction of the movie. Sloan appeared and pointed a gun at the man. That time, the man turned to him only to reveal he was just a decoy. He looked down, and Sloan looked down as well. He realized he was standing on an x mark on the floor. Then he looked up, realized he was the target and said “Oh fuck!” At that particular time, Gibson had already planned and calculated the chain of events beforehand that he was on time when the “curved” bullet hits Sloan’s head. He was actually shooting from his father’s apartment, the same window where his Father assassinated Mr. X at the start of the movie.
The movie ended with Wesley Gibson breaking the fourth wall, telling the audience (while showing an overview of his being an assassin for the past six weeks of his life), “This is me taking back control of my life. What the fuck have you done lately?”
It was really awesome! All the action that took place. How they managed to curve the bullet with their gifts. How Angelina played her role perfectly. A definitely must seen movie before you die!
